Distinguished research library of extensive manuscripts and photographs are of international importance and an important cultural asset. Access to research collections is by appointment only.
Staff is knowledgeable about Sitka and its past and present and will gladly assist with any questions or provide information to make your visit to Sitka an enjoyable one.
Attractive and educational gift shop inventory includes a large collection of Tlingit, Russian and local handcrafted replicas of the museum's collections. A large collection of books, cards and prints are related to the Museum's collections. Sitka Historical Society exclusives include an afghan/throw, hand-painted mugs, brightly colored shirts, trivets and numerous other items.
